The purpose of this article is to explain the steps to connect the MRP Live for Drag Racing client to the Portatree timing system.
Step 1: Download the latest version of MRP Live for Drag
- The latest version is: 1.0.18
- Download and install onto a machine you are going to use as the MRP computer.
- Download here
Step 2: Connect MRP Live for Drag
- Connect the machine you are using as the MRP computer to the local network router that Portatree is connected to and to wi-fi.
- No need to worry about a network bridge, or any other configuration.
- Get the IP of the MRP computer with MRP Live for Drag Racing on it.
- This is the network IP that is on the same network as the Portatree Announcer machine
- IP address found in CMD -> ipconfig/all
- This is the network IP that is on the same network as the Portatree Announcer machine
- Input the IP of the MRP computer into MRP Live for Drag Racing and a Port of 50000
- Input the proper connection code for the event.
- Connect MRP Live for Drag Racing
Step 3: Connect Portatree to MRP Live for Drag Racing
- Open the Portatree Announcer program to activate the timing feed.
- Check "Enable NHRA Live Timing"
- Enter the IP Address of the MRP computer that is capturing the live timing data
- you can find this by opening a command prompt and typing ipconfig -all
- Enter the Port (this is the port you have selected in your program)
- The "Send in Real Time" is optional.
- Please note that some events require a delay before you post results. Otherwise, racers could be accused of cheating if they are reading the results as the cars go down the track. Generally this is only a problem for "Eliminations" runs
- Click "Save"
