I was previously able to post from MRP to Facebook successfully, but now when I post nothing appears on the Facebook page. How do I fix this?
Sometimes the authorization that we get from Facebook expires or becomes invalid. This can be fixed by reauthorizing the MRP app as documented here.
How do I add my driver's Facebook page that I manage and not my own personal page?
If your personal Facebook user account is a page administrator on your driver's Facebook page, then we can ask Facebook for this information and create a link to the driver's page.
Note: Do not be alarmed if your Facebook profile appears when granting the MRP Facebook permissions, this is normal. The Facebook pages that you administer are linked to your personal Facebook profile. Later in the process you will be able to select which Facebook page that you want to link.
Why is my team's Facebook page not listed on the MyRacePass Facebook authorization page?
When you authorize the MyRacePass Facebook app, we ask Facebook for a list of the pages that your Facebook user administers, then we make each of those pages an option available as a checkbox.
If you don't see the desired page listed, then it is likely that your user is not an administrator on the page. Sign into Facebook and then try reauthorizing the MyRacePass Facebook app. If you still do not see the page listed, contact another Facebook page administrator and ask them to verify that you are a page administrator. This information can be confirmed in Facebook by opening the Settings of the desired page and then clicking Page Roles. Under the heading Existing Page Roles there should be a section for Admin that lists the page administrators.
Note: A page moderator will not work, you must be a page administrator.
I have verified that I am a Facebook page administrator, why do I not see the page listed on the MyRacePass Facebook authorization page?
Facebook allows the user to have very granular control over Facebook permissions and sometimes these permissions are not granted for a specific Facebook page. You can find these permissions on the Facebook Business Integrations page. Click the link View and edit for MyRacePass. Make sure that permissions are enabled for the desired pages under Manage your Pages, Show a list of the pages you manage and Publish as Pages you manage.
Note: It is uncommon for these granular permissions to be the root problem. By far the most common reason for a problem of this type is the Facebook user is not a Page Administrator, so always make your first step to verify that your user is in fact a Page Administrator.
I have verified that I am a Facebook page administrator and verified the permissions on the Facebook Business Integrations page, but I get an error anytime I try posting. How do I fix this problem?
Because of changes in the Facebook API in the past few years, it is possible that some Facebook users will encounter an error when sharing even though everything appears in order. The best way to fix this problem is to remove MyRacePass from the Facebook user's Business Integrations page and then reauthorize the MyRacePass Facebook app as documented here.
Note: This problem is user-specific and should only affect users who first added the MyRacePass Facebook app when the Facebook API worked differently.
How can I link my Facebook group with MyRacePass?
Because of changes that Facebook has made in their API, MyRacePass cannot integrate directly with a Facebook group or user. Instead create a Facebook page for your Facebook group and then link MyRacePass to the group page.
Note: In order to link a Facebook page with a Facebook group, you need to be an administrator on both the page and the group. Being a moderator is not sufficient.
-
On your group page click More | Edit Group Settings.
-
Then in the section Linked Pages, click Create New Linked Page.
- Enter a name for the page and click Create Page.
-
After the page has been created for your group, sign into your MRP admin site and authorize the MyRacePass Facebook app with your new page as documented here.
