The Purpose of this article is to explain the features of the Suspension Management screen inside Season Management. Keep in mind sanctioning bodies can also suspend drivers, but this article will show the process for tracks and series to suspend drivers from their network only.
Adding a Suspension
To start, navigate to the Suspensions tab of Season Management.
From there, use the Green "Add Suspension" button in the upper left. Once you've clicked that, you'll see a form appear for suspension information.
There are 6 form fields that you can fill in.
- Suspension Type. This will help designate why the driver was suspended. You can choose from Rules Violation, Misconduct, Refused Tech Inspection, Claim refusal, and Other.
- Fee. If there is some type of fine involved with the suspension, you can specify it here.
- Competitor. This is where you can apply the suspension to a driver profile.
- Date Range. If the suspension will expire at a certain date, this is where you can specify the date.
- Internal Notes. If there are any notes needed in this screen, you can type them here.
- Back Gate Notes. If there are any notes needed for your back gate worker regarding the suspension when checking in the driver, you can specify them here.
Editing an already created suspension
Once you've created a suspension, you'll be brought to the editing screen. You can also reach this screen by clicking on the name of the driver who's already listed in suspension management. At this screen you can edit all of the previous information, as well as lift the suspension, or designate if payment for the fine has been made.
You can also specify which class the driver is suspended for. Once you've selected a class, you will see the option to revoke points for a date range if you want points removed for a duration of time for that driver.
Note: There is a new report added at the top of the screen called the "Suspension Bypass" report that will show you any drivers who have been allowed to compete while suspended.
Lifting the Suspension
Lifting a suspension happens in that same editing window. Simply change the status to lifted.
Suspension Options in the Entry List in Race Management
When you add a suspended driver to the entry list, you'll see an error at the top of the screen.
The "Suspension" Section will also appear at the bottom of the form which will allow your back gate workers to see any message you left as well as allow the driver to compete. It is important to note you cannot lift the suspension here, only in Season Management.
It is also important to note that you cannot add a suspended driver until you check the "allow entry with suspension" box.
